Hi. Im temporarily in the UK from my home in France. Discovery 4 2010
Dropped my only key fob in a puddle.
Tried to dry it out on radiator so i could drive back to where I was staying. It worked after a few tries.
Removed battery to dry it and placed whole thing in rice overnight.
Key not working as in it opens door but not recognised even when put under steering column.
We have a key specialist in the village who tested it on his software and said it was working ok but its still not recognised by the car.
He has ordered two new LR fobs for me but if the problem is now the car what can I do. Im desperate to get home to France.
Are there any fixes i can try before spending a fortune at the dealer, a new key was quoted at nigh on £700 so god knows how much a fix is.
Any advice welcome. Thank you
