Slow wipers

Hi all
I have noticed over the last few days that my wipers are slow on the return and sometimes stop when on intermitant. They are fine on the forward sweep and if they are on full.I have sprayed the arms with WD 40 but still the same.

Two possibilities depending on the age of yer truck,

1, What state is the wiper motor in?
2, Could be an earthing prob, Id check yer wirin first, lookin for shorts as well as loose contacts.

I;ve got a similar problem with my 300. Wipers slow on intermitant and when i use the front washer the radio goes off!! Convinced it's a wiring/earth problem.

There is a common fault with disco wipers where water seeps in past the seals and then rusts up the insides. Often this kills the rear wipers which are used less frequently and this given time to rust up proper. Then cause the mechanism is so stiff the gears strip and its time to find a replacement.

Assuming its not an electrical problem. (Which it may well be), take the motor appart and oil inside/regrease. They come appart and go back together quite easily.
