After discovering a dribble of clean water on the front left floor mat (2000 P38 V8) I quickly suspeccted the pollen filter housing. Out with them both and checked. Driver's side dry so no prob - gave it a blast with the airline anyway. The passenger's side one was wet and there was water in the bottom of the housing. Dismantled the scuttle and glovebox to get to the fan, slackened the screws and got a bit of a dribble. Checked the drain channel and water runs freely to the outside, resealed all the gaskets and a bit of black sealant on the metal top plate so nothing should get in now. Switched on the fans and there is still a sloshing noise in the left fan area so there is obviously still water there.

My question will the water dry away anyway without causing any bother? I wouldn't want to have to replace blender motors again. It was dear enough last year. Any ideas??

I have an 80 mile round trip coming up on Thursday so I suppose turning things up to 25 degrees or so could evaporate it with any luck or would it or have I missed anything?

I have been back out and blown through the drain channel using a piece of tubing filled with water and it went through to the ground. I managed to take off the rubber funnel end inside te car. I must admit it took a fair puff at first so hopefully I have answered my own question. I have the s shaped vent pipe from the fan off too and it's dry inside.

Dried out and rebuilt, water all gone. Hopefully blowing through the tubes and resealing the cover has done the trick. I'm sure the wonderful weater up here will test it in due course.
