Slipping clutch

Hi All donr a search and not found this issue like mine before so here goes. My clutch slips not in all gears and not all the time been doing it for 2 months or so if it slips i lift off lightly and it pulls fine. is there any adjustment or should i bite the bullet and call mr clutch ?

You could try and bleed the clutch slave. Althou i don't think that will help much. Mine was doing this a couple of months ago. However mine was juddering like mad in first. Turned out that the spinner plate had blown apart.

mine did the same not so long bk! but on mine the pedal didnt feel right it felt like it wasnt coming up all the way, so i changed the master and slave. problem solved pig to bleed mind! i also removed the "clutch damper" the stupid round thing next to the slave that doesnt do FA.

you could have a point with the pedal not coming up all the way although the clutch is "high" the bite point is right at the top of the pedal travel

Try the bleed first.How is the gearchange when driving ?

It could also be the clutch fork on its way out, as in the slave has started to punch through the socket on the fork itself. But deffo agree try and bleed first

dont suppose the fork can be changed without splitting the gearbox / engine ?

Sounds like you're heading for a new clutch. It might go on like it is for a while though. I had a disco for 6 months that slipped when going up hills sometimes and it didn't get any worse. You could also check to see if there's any oil dripping out of the flywheel housing drain hole. Could be the rear crank seal is leaking and contaminating the clutch.

is the rear crank seal as bad to change as the clutch ?

When bleeding, try the two-man method, i found it to work really well.

Stuuf a pipe on the nipple, other end in jar, can etc, Friend presses pedal down and holds, you release screw and let air out then retighten screw, friend releases pedal.

Repeat until no air/bubbles comes out.

I found this quick and easy as its a high pressure bleed method unlike the little split easy-bleed pipes that are crap

And yes to do the crank seal, its clutch out and flywheel off i believe.

As said above clutch and flywheel off to change the crank seal. Still recomend getting a new fork when you replace the clutch thou. Where abouts are you palace
