Having put all the front end of my 300tdi together I come to fit the bonnet and the catch doesn't line up ..

The slam panel needs to move forwards by about 7mm so that the bonnet catch/latch centralises in the hole. I can move the plate/hole but this is as far forwards as it can go and still needs more.
There are 2 x M8 bolts that hold this to the wing (each side)

My question is, how much movement is there here ?
Can I loosen these and pull it all forwards (?) by how much ?
I can't remember if the slam panel is slotted.

Assuming that your bulkhead hasn't moved. slacken all the fittings for the wings and front panel and see if you can realign everything. The bolt holes are slotted to allow for "production tolerances".

Thanks for the replies :)

In short, the slam panel doesn't have any adjustment (no slots), it can be tilted slightly but this isn't enough so i'm going for the bonnet hinges as I need around 3 to 5mm.
This means I will enlage/slot the front mounting holes to allow for a little lateral movement.

I took the old hinges off to discover that The Butchers had painted to bonnet with them on ......:(
It's never just one thing with Defenders.
