Got a couple of email alerts this morning from skytag, letting me know the tracker was getting low power and then was disconnected and running on its internal battery - was I with the vehicle?, if not call this number. I was replacing the car battery at the time as the old one was kaput (been on the to do list all week but done now). Top marks to Skytag.
 
depends how well you hide it and agin comes back to layers of security if you have a pdeal lock stearing wheel to fight with before they can move it chances are the tracker will be running until they park up somewhere to look in more detail

Haha obviously! I was thinking of making a tracker/immobiliser box and riveting in somewhere but then if you need to get at it be a mare... open to ideas :D
 
Twin alarms, both with their own battery backup if disconnected from the main 12V supply, onf fitted inside a bolted-on box with 'vent's the cab, and the opther in a 'vented' box near the engine compartment!
Both are 130Db, and can be heard from quite a way away!
I can't be in my Landy when the internal alarm goes off!

That's a good point. I think I'd be daft with the money in the rebuild not too. See if can get immobilizer and tracker built in

They work if the thief is taking to sell / strip / keep. But if it is toe rag going to thrape it and then burn it, not so good. I understand they do different levels of cover, ideally you want to be able to review the position yourself, and set a fence around it.


Like everything on security. Layers upon layers..............So that hopefully your Skytag is a waste of money.....as it will never be needed.

Seriously thinking of building a new garage just for it tbh specially when you hear how many getting nabbed
 
Am I right in thinking that these devices which rely on a GPS position will need sight of the sky where they are mounted? That would reduce the options for where it goes. Inside a metal box welded to the chassis wouldn't work, I would guess. I have a few good ideas for where it can go when I get mine, but not sharing on an open forum for obvious reasons.
