Silly engine Info required :-)

Hi

I know nothing about engine's but I need to replace my engine in Freeland 1.8 gs 16V but I understand that there were 2 types for this year (2001) coil or distributor cap is there anywhere I can go to find out what engine is in mine as I have no manufactures book.

Can I get this info from freelander themselves if I give my registration?????

Try looking under bonnet and if you can't tell- take a photo of engine and post it on here

Stick your vin number in google, there'll be some kind of checker knocking about on t'internet
Failing that you could always just burn the Gaylander, claim on the insurance and buy a proper Landy
