hi all

I’ve have searched the interweb and am drawing a blank, could anyone give me some advice from their own personal experiences.

I’m replacing my roof on my 88inch 2a. The roof I will be putting on has had silicone sealant run along all the seams, by what I can only assume as someone with their eyes closed.
The plan is to pull it out as it looks horrid. However, it maybe there for a reason!

As a preventative measure I wanted to gun something as a replacement just to be sure it doesn’t leak... anymore than usual.

Is there a sealer that people have used which is paintable, and for exterior use? I will be painting it nato green.

I have read Sikaflex mentioned a few times...but usually on white or black roofs...and there are a few different types and no one is specific.

Any help muchly appreciated.

Many thanks

Mav

Hi if you want it to really sealed then use sikaflex221, that’s used on caravans to seal in skylights,
But a bit cheaper is sikaflex EBT that works equally well, I used the EBT to bond 4 solar panels to my Motorhome roof, they have been up now for six years with no deterioration in there bonding or sealing,

Sikaflex would be fine there's a caravan sealant type that is basically bomb proof (and currently holds my foot wells together). I used brush on seam sealer on my roof.

Ok cool.

Did you have any issues painting over it?

Both are equally good, go for the best price you can find them, be aware of short use by dates if brought from
eBay,
