Think they're designed to provide anchor points for the ratchet straps.
That hold the doors in place, incase they get wet..

Mine are part of a body protection kit which was already on the car. Look good but makes getting in awkward for short people

On a freelander you could maybe put a bit of weight on them (before itll tip over) if it was a disco tho youd never put weight on them or theyd just drop off.. Did this to a disco in the scrap yard thought they look straight and tidy "kick" and off it fell Haha

Depends which version you get. Mine bent when oft road. The bars sticking out horizontal which hold the side steps in place got pushed upwards and bent the sill a bit. They do have a vertical support bar near the sill but it will still bend if you belly out the side step.

It's a myth our doors fall oft.
Just because LR put out a warning of yer wheels falling oft when wet.

I just want to use them for standing on to wash the car. Trust my luck my photos are in the wrong format :brick:

mother in law uses them to get in, and i stand on them to wash the roof !
