Freelander 1 Side Steps or Rock Sliders

Do side steps act as rock sliders? or are they not strong enough?

Any recommendations please?

The brackets for side steps run under the sill and could get caught.
Rock sliders are now a bit tatty as the powder coat has worn off.

ah, so side steps aren't very good for sliding down rocks ... I see the rock sliders give a lot more protection.

Mines not lifted so the sliders come in handy

even with a lift I think they'll be handy.

Durham 4x4, had them on 8 years. Any Bearmach outlet will sell them, but shop around. Even with postage, Durham were cheaper than collecting from my local LR indy.
