sorry for being a noob but i tried a search on how to rewire my head/side lights so only the side light comes on not the head aswell or is it law any help plzz:behindsofa:

what light switch have you got? do you not just push the stalk forward one click for side lights and then another click for headlights aswell

no jus the 1 switch push forward and the side/head comes on together i think the headlight comes on about 60% power

ok. looks like you have the normal dim-dip system stops you driving round with no headlights on. to check this
1. With the engine running, switch on the sidelights - you hould have sidelights on and dipped beam on at reduced power
2. Leave the lights switched to sidelights and turn off the engine - sidelights (parking lights) should remain on and the dipped beam should have extinuished.
i'm not 100% sure but i think the lights know your engine is on by been connected somehow to the oil pressure switch
i suppose to just have sidelights only you could wire in another swith to them both but it sounds like your van is doing what its supposed to do

some 1 told me that theres a rely that i can rewire so only the sidelights work i jus cant find it pfff

you could look at this see if it helps. my van is older so does not have this feature so i cant take a look
