Thinking of fitting an extra battery with an isolater switch that can be turned off when not needed and on when required as a built in jump start thingy. Theres a lot of space at the rear of the eas valve block on the dse and with a bit of fetlin it should fit . Nothing to big but big enougth to be usefull. All ideas, suggestions and comments will be treated with the contempt they deserve ;)

Personally, I think a second battery can never be a bad thing. Although many will think it unnecessary. I've probably needed a jump start maybe a dozen times in 45 years of driving and mostly outside my own house. But I sometimes think of fitting a spare battery just for the hell of it.

I have a spare battery fitted but in the boot with a solinoid from a winch to isolate it so that i can switch it on for charging and when needed for jumping. When my main battery did pack up i Found that the cells had shorted out and when i switched to the second battery it was still shorting and would not start and still had to get a jump start but had to dissconect main battery as it still would not start from another vehicle but would start jumping to second battery. The temperature at the time was -8c and snowing and in a lay by in Russia at 7am as i had camped the night there waiting for the boarder crossing with Latvia to open.
