Hello All!

New to the forum and a Range Rover owner of 2 days! ... and loving it.

Here's my second question on this forum as I configure the car to my needs and get to know it better.

The car has a 6 disk DVD/CD/MP3 interchanger in the boot, which I assume is standard kit. I am wondering if there is any way to mod this kit to allow me to play movies/mp3 from USB (stick or external drive)...I havent removed the unit yet, and I doubt this is possible in any standard form, so I am looking for advice on any way to achieve this.

I am happy to replace the unit if this is the best option as I have little use for DVDs.

My first question on the forum was regarding bluetooth, so if there is a way to solve both problems with a full replacement head unit or similar, then I would be open to that too.

The car is a 2006 Vogue TD6.

Thanks

Mark.

Replacing any of the sound/SatNav system is not straightforward.
Video that can be viewed by the driver is illegal.
If you want video in the rear, a couple of Tablet computers is the best option IMO.

Thanks DataTek

I wasn't planning on showing on the front display, I have headrest displays in the back connected to a stock 6 DVD interchanger in the boot. I dont have DVDs anymore and have converted these to MP4s or similar, so am looking for a way to show these and shut the kids up.

I am now thinking it may be a case of either not doing anything or changing the lot, including the front screen (losing the trip computer & clock)

Cheers

Mark.

There will be a way to wire in to the screens directly, bypassing the DVD changer. Or, if you want to retain that for music, you'll most likely be able to find a lead that allows you to splice off the main loom and provide an alternative source for the screens.
