I've just read a thread where the OP was asked if it was a 'Soft Dash or a Hard Dash'. WTF does it mean?

its classics one is soft dash one is hard dash, depending on age..

Post 93/94 classic range rovers had the new discovery dash which was generally a bit softer around the edges hence soft dash. Prior to that they had a more angular, hard plastic dash.
I may be slightly out with the dates but feel free to correct me!
