Should you be able to stop the air compressor with your thumb?

Just a quick question, had the compressor rebuilt but eas still wont work.
I can stick my thumb on the outlet whilst running and easily keep it there, does that sound right?

OK I am not superman, I can keep it there with some pressure all day

It should eventually after a very short period blow past your thumb and if you continue to apply reasonable pressure it will start to burn your skin. I would suggest the exhaust valve is not seated properly.

Looking at your other thread don't know how it can blow off if it is not producing pressure. L322 compressor should maintain tank at either 199 psi without external pressure relief or 171 psi with external relief. Suggest you take it back to whomsoever refurbed it.

Had a mate look at it and so much for paying a specialist 4x4 indy, they put the piston seal in upside down
Not sure if it has damaged the seal, but turned it over and all working again
