My thoughts too. They are Terrafirma shocks, and as I said, that’s how they are shown as fitted. Strange !!Yes, the other way round. A cup washer cupping the rubber.

wot he said.......... specially if you dont remove yer cups........The reason for that is that if the washer cradles the bush then more stress is introduced into the pin that sticks out the bottom of the shock and it snaps off.
It's a get-out .... a way of covering up bad material and manufacturing design.

So what’s the consensus then ? Leave the cup washers as they are, or turn them ? If the shocks are shite, I’ll just need to live with them until they break or rot out. It’s not the end of the world.wot he said.......... specially if you dont remove yer cups........
Not the cup washers on the bush, the bush cups on the axle,

There are no cups on the axle bracket. So I just have two cup washers per side. I fitted these a couple of weeks ago and I think I binned the instructions.@meego are there just the two washers or are there 4 ... 2 with larger center holes ?
Have you removed the steel 'cups' from the lower mount (can't quite see from your photo) ?
Can you post a pic of the instructions ?
I agree. The more I looked at it, which was plenty as I’m in the middle of fitting a rear cross member, the more I thought that just does not look rightI would rotate the bushes and put then up against the two cupped washers with the big hole's against and sandwiching the mounting bracket.
The two cupped washers with the smaller holes also cup the bushes, the top one against the shock body and the lower one held by the nut.
If the two large hole washers aren't supplied then just the two on the outside on the bushes ....
You photo looks completely ar$e about face.
I’m going to swap them shortly. I’ll post a pic when it’s done.TThere seems to be two types.
The pic below is the OME/Terrafirma and Britpart version ...

The ones here (Prolink) are (I think) for the later type cars .... ??

All Terribly-not-firma rear shocks seem to have the original bushed with 4 washers ???

You think ? I thought it looks a good set up now, as the rubber bush on each side will allow good articulation of the pin ??Better, but I still think it's not right ...
I'd be very tempted to purchase 2 sets of TFSBK01 washer/bush kits ...
