I have a 1953 Series 1 80" and I'm looking for shocks (front and back). I see a few of the regular Land Rover parts suppliers sell what appear to be pattern parts, but what about aftermarket shocks like Monroe, Koni, Old Man Emu, Procomp etc.? Living overseas I have access to these, I don't really want to paying a whole load in postage to send some pattern ones from the UK.;)

Surely these guys do shocks as well? I know their catalogues don't always show the car against the shock, but I've found (with other older cars) that often that's because they can't be bothered to include older models in their catalogue.

I had a reply from Old Man Emu who have suggested N78 and N69 shocks, has anyone any actual experience of these on a 80"?

I'd be interested to hear of any shocks that other have used with success.

Edit: I've since discovered that OME shocks N78 (front) fit 88's and 109's and the N69 shocks fit the 109 (rear), will they really fit a 80"?

Hi Landyboy,

I see you have a 80" in your signature, have you fitted Pro-Comp shocks to that? Did you have to modify anything to get them to fit?

You wouldn't by any chance know the part numbers that you used would you? When I do a search it comes up with about 6 different types!

Cheers
