A whole week of torture, parts and empty wallet, but she's back :)

You may note she's slightly different around the bumper and fogs ;)

You won't notice the new parts underneath, but she has radius arm bushes, CV joint (reluctor ring issues) and a shed load of work that took a fat bloke a week where it would have taken an able bodied chap considerably less time.

Nonetheless, I am super proud of my efforts even though each day I could barely crawl out of bed by 11:30am because I had to chew through so many painkillers the night before. But I'm a stubborn bastard (which is why I'm still around apparently) so I push and push and push til the jobs a goodun.

I like how she turned out though

And I think I have a right to feel a little smug :)

Thanks boss, I don't really feel smug. I do feel chuffed though...This afternoon I was sore, worn out, grumpy as fffff... But I pushed on through to get the bumper rebuilt.

Who knew I would need to drill several small holes to put cable ties through the metal & plastic sections to pull the lumpy plastic top section into line, but I did it.

I also had to superglue riv nuts into the plastic bumper sections where the captive nuts had rusted to the bolts and got ripped out of their captivity o_O

New screws & clip on threads....

Basically, a whole rebuild of the bumper metal & plastics.

But what a result :)

She is looking good, pidgeon sh*t anorl :)

And the SIDE lights

Hope you get back to the normal amount of pain soon Soldier ;)

Those side lights are daytime running lights which go off when the indicators are switched on.

Clever LED tech and sneaky soldering.... Not many people got this.

As for the expensive dip, you won't get to me with the bird poo remarks because everyone who see's the car in the actual love it because it looks awesome

As for the pain, I'd love to wake up any day and feel, well, just "normal!" o_O

Well done, Doo. Hell of a marathon but look lovely and bet she's driving better too.

I noticed that coming back from visiting a friend. I noticed I didn't need to keep correcting the steering. I just hold the wheel and she trundles nicely.

Happy days :)

However, now I'm going to use her to drive to hospital because it seems I've got a ripped cornea again... It hurts like ffffffffffffffffff and my eye is watering so looks like I'm crying (which I almost am is "that" sore).

Bloody hell o_O

Well done like the look of her, nice colour
Know what its like with the painkillers and on some now, last Saturday on morphine in local hospital but what the heck your back on the road again and that's what matters

Thanks all, appreciated :)

Got more ointment for the eye. They ruled out worse things (what could be worse than an eye so dry it rips off a layer of cornea cells when you open it? o_O) and my eyesight is perfect, better than expected for my "age" 21....stone :p

So, got home feeling a little under the weather & spent all day dozing and feeling a bit less than ok

It's almost fluey so could be just knackered from the week of torture

Mot Monday

Failed mot on front to rear brake pipes!

The self same brake pipes I asked to be done all the way to the front not so long after my accident, but it turns out they were only done from flexi to the point where the rear chassis leg passes the centre of the fuel tank and starts to curve o_O

So that was annoying, it was all that failed along with a loose top bracket on a flexi (rivet had come loose, fixed with a cable tie)

Got them done & retest today and a pass.

The emissions were epic. Allowed CO of 3.50 mine was in fact 0.00. Allowed HC of 1200ppm mine were 7 on LPG.

So basically it's putting out cleaner air than it's breathing in :D

That and while I was waiting to go in for the test, I fitted my replacement stereo screen and programmed the steering wheel controls on my fluffy new light stone leather & walnut wheel so I can play with the radio without taking my hands off the wheel

I love technorojee :p

Hi mate @Doo

Good to hear u got it through the mot , always the way when u think everything is done

Mine past it’s mot weds and just got an advisory about the front brake hoses , they said about a bracket , so will replace both front brake hoses and the back nearside while I’m at it, , that will then be all the brake system done and dusted with all new parts , ordered stainless steel bolts as well for when I re secure the new hoses

Front brake hoses on mine are different from what I’ve seen before , there’s 6 x hoses in the back and 2 x on the front

Rangie looking good there mate

Out of interest I enclosed my emission print out , a lot of difference compared how well urs is running on LPG and mine diesel

Ps, didn’t think ur mind me adding pics , D3 is all now shiny, lol ( thks to bike teacher Dave )
