Shear Nuts

If they shear the bolt head off the. Drill them out. If the shear the nut off then cut them off.
Failing that if you can cut them off you could carefully cut a slit in them and/or split them open with a sharp chisel.

Grind a slot in the threaded part & use a screw driver to undo them or drill a hole in the centre & tap an Allen key socket

Thanks I will try cutting a slot with a dremmel and using a nut splitter
Don’t think I will be able to get to the bolt head as that is behind roof rack clamp. Will have a look tomorrow thanks

First I’d try a dot punch or small chisel on the edge and turn it round with hammer, use release spray first

Is the screw thread part of the rack or just a replaceable bolt , if careful another option is to gring two flat screws on and get off with spanner , I use dot punch and or chisel on old nuts when they’re rounded off , very effective and don’t do much damage, once it’s starts to turn it’s away , doesn’t matter right you shag the shear nut

You can also get removable security nuts needs a special tool
It is a replaceable bolt, gring ?

Looking at the pic I would use a grinder, id use a skinny stainless cutting disc.
I would do the same, 1mm cutting disc on a grinder and just cut it flush with the clamp, then fit new bolts. I am assuming they are square coach bolts that slot into the rear leg.

Well if I was nicking it, I’d just slit disc it down the centre of the bolt shaft until I hit the washer on both sides.
The remains of the shear nut would simply fall in half.

If I was nicking it I would take the landy it is attached to as well, probably easier and quicker than cutting down the bolts
