I'm going to buy a Freelander today. I've never had one before, it's from 2005, 2.0L diesel. It looks like a luxury one with the roof bars coming down the stern and a step running along the sills. 32,000miles, it looks brand new!

Bought my 52 plate TD4 GS Auto nearly 4 years ago, 36,000 on the clock and have now doubled that. Only probs I've had apart from niggly cosmetic things have been a new battery, new window regulator, new anti roll bushes and new diff mounts (also new tyres & pads but this was part of regular maintenance).

Has been the best car I've owned. Being a Landy you will always have a project on the go, something needs fiddling with or fixing, but mechanically mine has been pretty bulletproof, even the auto box.

If you keep it well serviced & read these forums you should be fine, just make sure you pick a good one to start with.

I'm looking for a P38 or L322 to buy at the moment but will definitely keep the Freelander.
