Can one of you pro's out there point me in the right direction please.
I have a 97 2.5 diesel, at low revs or when coming to a stop it is seriously vibrating as if its misfiring, when trying to drive in slow traffic it is diabolical.
I was told it was the injector pump so i had it replaced, i was then told by a landrover tech that it was the flexiplate, out with the box, checked the plate and adaptor and no fault found, changed the filter as a precaution.
Had some one hanging out the back with thier hand over the exhaust and cant feel no difference in back pressure, rev counter does not fluctuate at all.
It is now driving me potty as i just dont know what to do next, any help to resolve this would be much appreicated.

hiya , have you had it on autologic or similar to see if any fault codes are stored ? if not i would consider it after checking the obvious like fuel delivery ect.
rick.

Have you tried removing the serpentine belt from the front of the engine to isolate any vibration from the accessories?

I take it it drives normally, just with this vibration at idle and upto 2000rpm or so?

Tried my own advice this evening, removed the alternator drive belt and compressor drive belt to see if vibration disappeared - but it wasn't the miracle cure I was hoping for, in fact made negligible difference.

There is a vibration damper built into the crankshaft pulley, wonder if that can degrade over time? Its a costly replacement item though.

Thanks for your reply. there is no vibration on idle only on a light throttle up to about 1200rpm. and when slowing right down. as soon as the wheels stop rotating it all stops
Thanks again
