bought these locking nuts from ebay, hex shape top,the key has four small male pins on the bottom, the nut has four female and the key fits over enabling nut to be turned or so i thought.got a flat while driving and tried changing tyre.soon as i put key on locking nut and turned the key the metal on the nut just broke away leaving no way to get the locking nut of.£8 for tyre weld but made it home. just to say if you see these lock nuts i described on flea bay dont buy them.made in taiwan ****e and 20 quid out of pocket.p.s any idea how i might get if of,without using a blow torch and hammer.

tighten the rest of the nuts tighter than normal, i go as tight as i can by hand/standing on a brace. this reduces the force on the locking nut and makes it slightly easier to remove. then hammer a socket over the locking nut and undo it.

worked for me many times (no scouse jokes please!!)

How I do it
hammer+ chisel.
locking wheel nut removal tool-only works on some.
Cars remove all nuts and put weight of vehicle on wheel then jack up-sometimes taper loosens.
bi hex socket beeten on offending nut ans undone.
admit failure on really expensive wheels and get someone with shotgun blank wheel nut remover to do it
