Had a minor service today just engine oil and levels check all over, grease up UJ etc. Only did 2000miles since last full oil service!
The is a major gap in the service intervals(before I purchased her) , so having to retro repair as well service going forward.
The guy (independent LR guy in Kent) looked over my car and basically gave me a list of the must dos for the future. He did take all the wheels off for some reason and when he did, fitted new pads on the front (although the were not down to metal, the carbon was actually separating from the metal backing. None of the pads had anti squeal stuff on them. He stripped the rear calipers. Removed a nail from a tyre which didn't deflate!
He listed that; exhaust mounts need to be welded as wearing thin, and also that the brake pipes on each corner are badly corroded. Generally, she is not bad. A few small oil leaks, but all levels where normal, so he wasn't worried.
He thought the front wiper arms were the wrong way round? One is short and one is long? Any ideas which way they go?
Anyways, was very happy service and didn't feel ripped off. Oh yes, the brakes are better!
