I have just got a Disco 1 300Tdi (1994) and want to give it a service so i know when it was last done.

Are service kits available? I know Britpart do one but keep hearing vague mentions about parts quality of their stuff.

Are they ok or where should i look and what should i be getting?

I am used to series landys but dont have a book for this one yet.

if you look on paddocks web site there are many service options from around £8 (britpart) to £20 (oem) inc vat for the service kit depending on what you want.

If you dont plan a lot of off roading / green laning then it might well be worth spending a little extra on your kit as you wont be replacing it as often, iirc there are bosch filters for a couple of quid more than the britpart but still cheaper than the oem stuff.

10w 40 diesel for 300tdi

Personally I use 10/40 semi synthetic, but they are just as happy with mineral oil so long as you change it regularly.
