Just getting together a set of service spares for my 1st serivce of the Freelander. I've seen plenty quoted cheaper online, Famour Four, Rimmer, Island, motor factors etc but go anyone know if they are geniune and whats the benefit.

Stealer has quoted me

Front disk set - 65.21
Front shoes set - 62.28
Air filer - 26.32
Fuel filter - 17.65

(15% off it I buy them all)

Don't really want to skimp on brakes but I have seen the other parts much cheaper. Is this just dealer prices or I'm I better of paying for the OE parts?

With previous cars ive tended to just get the from a motor factors.

most filters etc are made by OEM for all the big manufacturers. brakes - one point i would say is be careful of the friction lining - too hard = last forever and wear out discs too soft = ace stopping but SHED LOADS of dust on those alloys! Remember if its too good to be true it prob is. Try your motor factor stick to well known brands - ferodo, mintex etc etc

You can pick up cheaper GENUINE brake pads etc by going to your local HONDA dealer! The Freelander shares many of these components with the Civic.

Meanwhile OEM parts will be the same quality as Genuine Parts.

... but not all alternative parts are OEM.

Cheers
