Every 6000 miles renew engine oils. Every 12000 miles renew gearbox oil, Every 24000 miles renew Transfer box oil and axle oils. I grease the propshaft every 6000 miles also. This is for normal road use. When returning from a trip like crossing Western Sahara I would do an engine oil and filters changed. I don't use expensive oils but I stick to the above schedules.

Yup, 6000 miles for me. I do the filters as well I know some service schedules don't recommend changing the filters quite so often, but they're not dear and it seems silly to run nice clean new oil through dirty filters. Gearbox and the rest of the transmission a bit less often. About three years ago I put Difflock Evolution in which is claimed to have a service life of 48,000 miles but I didn't leave it that long. I've just put ordinary MTF94 and gear oil in and intend to leave it a couple of years or 24,000 miles.

Unless you've got a metric odometer- then it happens to be a nice round 10,000km
