Hi there, can anyone help. I was doing 70mph, overtaking a lorry and got a massive vibration through the steering wheel, the lorry slowed and flashed me over to the hard shoulder to tell me that the passenger wheel was vibrating violently. I checked the wheel nuts and carried on cautiously to get of the motorway. I will attach a photo if I can of the damage I have found. I need a second opinion, but I think the axle has sheared and I am blooming thankful that the wheel did not come away, as there is no doubt I would have rolled the car up the motorway. I would appreciate anybodies thoughts as to the extend of the damage. thanks in advance, Alistair

I agree with slob on the rust problem, the chassis where your bump stops are looks bad to, be a good idea to get underneath with a screwdriver and have a good poke about. i think you were very lucky you dident shere the axle clean off, there looks a lot of metal fatige on the radius arm housing where its split, best check the other side, its probley stressed that area as well.
have you ever heard of waxoil !! sorry to say its a bit beyond that stage now.
im suprised on a 94 plate.
