Went to have a gander at this today but not having much of a clue as to what series it is??

Also isn't is odd some of the things people say to you when you go to look at a vehicle??

How long have you had it mate? "I bought it last week, but I can't really afford to keep it"

"out of all my land rovers this has been the most reliable" Hang on didn't he just say he had only had it a week??

land rover series 3 tax exempt 1972 runs very well and drives. low miles | eBay

Looks like a 3 - air vent in wing side, the right grille, dash looks right, worth checking the VIN number to see if the year looks right.

I had had all new out riggers and plenty of welding and looked ok to be honest! shame it went side ways every time you touched the brakes though!

He states that it 'hasn't been mucked about, no mods' so the fairies put that chav checker plate on. If you look under the childish astroturf you will see some horrendous bodge welding, that will tell you to check the rest out carefully, especially the chassis number (front dumb iron).
Caveat emptor.

Yeah I walked away from it!
