Series Starter Motor Reconditioning

Does anyone know of a business near Helensburgh that would be able to recondition a Series 3 starter motor?
I had suggestion of a place in Glasgow, Partick Auto Electronics, but unable to discuss as they appear to not answer their phone

What's up with it? If they're anything like the earlier ones, there's not much to go wrong

I was looking and there does apear to be repair kits/parts available .... solenoids, bushes, brushes ... everything

It's not turning. Checked all connections and it's getting power from solenoid but nothing happens with the starter motor.

Yeah I believe it can be done ---- if you have the equipment. Have watched YouTube vids of someone reconditioning but I have neither the tools nor the expertise to carry out at home.
Also I did try to get the screws off and they are a real bugger to shift and I don't want to end up stripping them.

If you pop round with it i'll take a look.
It likely needs a clean and some new brushes...

miktdish, thanks for your very kind offer, however I have been given a recommendation by a local mechanic who suggested ES Alternators in Kirkintilloch, which is a little closer to home.
Tried those screws again and they are not budging a millimeter ---- let alone an inch.

Took my starter motor to ES Alternators in Kirkintilloch and they fixed it in jig time!!
Great service at a very reasonable price.
So now the ORIGINAL starter motor in back in place and functioning well.
I would certainly recommend ES Alternators
