Hi Guys,
I havent as of yet really made an Introduction, I have made a coulpe of posts but thats all really. Anyways I thought I would introduce my project and keep and up date of my project as it comes along.
Back in 2008 I brought a 1958 series II it was mostly complete and rot free which was amazing considering its age. anyways i have it on the road for a while before its age started to show, eventually the gearbox gave out. so from then on i decied to take it apart and build it something different out of it.
firts pics are when it was on the road, been playing in the woods
With the gearbox dead... it sat on my drive for a while, i then got around to stripping it down
I first tackled the gear box with the hope of possible getting it back on the road quickly... but once i started i jst kept pulling bits off, you know how it goes.
Rebuilding the gearbox... infact the gearbox was fine, it was a shaft in the transfer box that had given up
Worn a BIG grove in the transferbox maing gear shaft
all back together....
Moving the landy to a new home for the next part of its rebuild
Stripping the remaining body work off
Was a sounds chassis under all the crap.... no real welding needed which was good.
Removed the rear axle, getting all the chassis painted and checked over
Looking like new
Axel all painted up, after checking it over it didnt really need any other work doing too it, if it works.......
Rolling Chassis... first part completed
Fitting the Gearbox...
Jumping forward abit now.... geting the V8 in and making up new engine mounts.
Notice how the oil filter is on the diff..... lots more fun to be had in correcting that
Engine in at long last.
Moving forward now to getting the bulkhead on and making it fit around the v8
Cutting the bulkhead out.
Cut out for the exhausts
Bulkhead back from sand blasting
First Coat of Primer
Repairing the front grill
On with the colour.... Its Green..... Really Green
Bulkhead finished
Front grill made up with new Rad, Fan and Lights
Fitting the Bulkhead once the chassis was back home, got the pedal boxes also installed.
Shinny bits arrive......
Getting them onto the engine
I have also fitted a remote oil filter so i can clear the front diff
Getting the engine level
Front Grill on and staring to build the front end up.
Stripping the wings down, trying to fill some of the dents
First coat of primer
Seatbox also getting sprayed up
On with the green again
This is it so far......... to be continuied
I hope you guys like it, i know when i see other peoples work it inspires me to get on and do mine, Ill keep you updated once ive got on and done some more work to it
Cheers
