Series II MPG

Looking at buying a series 2 diesel 2250, what MPG could I expect

Also what MPG for a SWB petrol ??

Have a search on here there are lots of people with postings relating to MPG. My 2a Petrol SWB gets between 12 and 18MPG depending on what sort of driving I am doing. You may get a few more MPG out of a Diesel

never gonna happen mate! haha thats very optimistic. my diesel did about 19mpg up to the peaks - but thats full pelt highrevs 50mph stuff.

my petrol SWB does around 17 / 18mpg

Yours was probably shagged or not set up very well - My Dad kept Mileage and fuel costs ect... Roughly 28MPG 6.50 Tyre's, overdrive, Not laden.

He is quite light on the left right foot though?

na my diesel is sweet, proper decent engine! the differance is your dad had overdrive so could do 50 ish with lower revs, i was literally flat out at 49 / 50mph doing very high revs!

Suppose - But that also includes alot of Town driving? I can understand you got the MPG you did reving the bollocks off it, also i pressume you worked it out from the laning aswell? Going no where very fast will also bring the MPG down.

The question is similar question to how long is a bit of string? It depends on if you have a Overdrive, a Heavy right foot and what type of driving you do ect ect!

nope that was the run up from my place to the peaks, which was almost exclusively motorway driving.

i think generally speaking you are looking at about 18 - 22mpg average

never, when i had my 2.25 petrol it did 12mpg. Different conditions didnt make a difference..

15mpg on a good day altho it feels more like 15gallon per mile

My 2.25 did 23mpg at a steady 56 following a truck on the A1 fully loaded but that is with Freewheel Hubs, Overdrive and Webber carb but on MT tyres

Slipstreaming trucks is cheating

I think I got my 2.25 petrol MPG in to single figures when towing a trailer load of stones up to north bavaria a few weeks back. The price of crude shot up again the monday afterwards.

My series 3 petrol with overdrive and 750 tyres does 25 mpg on a 27 mile run with 18 of that motorway

between 12 & 18 fer a doozle, my 2.25 petrol does 9 mpg max towing,
