Series II Distributor problem

A couple of days ago I went to start my Series, and the engine was just cranking over and not starting. I've found it to be a no spark issue, as petrol is defiantly getting into the engine. (It would always start on the 2nd/ 3rd attempt, when not used for a while)

I've then used a multimeter to check voltage is coming from the coil and it is. So the coil isn't dead, the wire from the coil to the distributor has 12v, so thats fine. Once you get to the distributor there is nothing. The only thing I can think of is; i've put the wires back in the wrong order when I went to put the a new wire in to the distributor, because the old one disintegrated. Its the Lucas type distributor.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Are you getting a spark at the points ? If you open them.

It's unlikely to be the distributer at fault, more likely to be something you've done wrong or duff condenser, cap, lead etc.

When they are closed with the ignition on, use a screwdriver or similar to open the points, you should see a spark.
Be sure to make sure the implement is insulated or you could get a shock off it!!!
