Does anyone know what the part at the bottom of the door pillar is called and where you can get it. It slides inside the pillar post at the base and the bottom door hinge bolts through it.

HI Landynutter,
an old thread but wondered if you got round to replacing the bottom door pilalr bracket, ive bought both sides and had em sitting in the garage for a year not quite sure how to do it

there's about 20 spot welds that need drilling out, along with a few seam welds which are pool welded when the new one is fitted - make sure the bulkhead is correctly aligned before you weld them up

it's an arse of a job, a spot weld drill and thin cutting discs will be required

cheers sean
thats probably why i havent done em yet, to drill the spot welds is access from inside, or outside do you need to take wing off first,

Sorry just noticed the reply, and my answer is i dont know Paddocks have only just got hold of them and there on there way. Im gonna wait for warmer weather before i start the job

if the bottoms are just rotted through around the bolt holes like mine were, you may be able to cut off the lower part and weld the new bit onto the metal coming down from the door pillar, saves a lot of faffing with the welds!
