i have a series 2a lightweight with dicky brakes basically!
i have replaced all of the brake shoes, and they bind on the drums going backwards, but there prefectly fine forwards. i believe it is only doing this on the front axel where i replaced one of the brake cylinders.
any one any ideas? cos im stuck
im thinking return springs or summat like

its a series 2a lightweight swb 2286 petrol, 10" brakes

im not a 100% sure the springs are on properly, but i cant see how else they would go on! as for central on the back plate i believe so, they turn perfectly normal forwards just not backwards

thats the first thing i will be checking tomorrow, nowt like laying on the frozen ground in the morning!

cheers folks, but still no joy.
ive rebuilt the front brakes they work forward but sieze backwards still, the snail cam is wound in, the shoes are installed properly and im out of ideas

alrighty then the bright sparks amongst you may have noticed i couldnt speel last time, i was a bit ****ed wen i wrote that last, but dont worry!ive sobred up and edited it.
it means the same thing basically but hey ho.
now its just lost all pressure or what ever in the brake system, im thinking a good bleed and if that dont do it new master cylinder, and if not its time for some john smiths and peanuts

ive had a dude come up too look at the brakes, there fitted correctly all round nothing wrong there, all the springs are good and in the right place. im lookin at new shoes now incase they were a duff batch, and new/skimmed drums. i can skim them myself thats not an issue
help welcomed!!
cheers folks

howdy again folks, got them all sorted now,
the problem was the lack of chamfer on the leading and trailing edge on the shoes 20 mins and a file later their all sorted, time to move on now and get the rest of the stuff done.
by the way any one know of any seats for a series landrover? ive got mk4 fiesta seats in at the mo but theyre a bit crap if ure over 6ft2. im thinking fold up seats like you get in cinema's or theatre's. or the folding seats out of bus's or somthing like
any offers?
cheers folks

u could try standing up if u want but u might bang ure head on summat, i was more thinking for the fuel tanks on a lightweight under the seats, the originals i believe the base hinged backwards? i figure they might be a bit comfier than series seats and they hinge up so they might do jus an idea
