Hi there all its my first time on a forum so i guess im a forum virgin, but i am in need of advice, I have a series 3 and the bulkhead around the vent flap is rusted through, I no you can buy a galvanised one for just under £1000 but this isnt an option for me. can this be patched up or welded, what can be done before its resprayed professionally and will it last

Have a look att my rebuild thread, I'm rebuilding a bulkhead and will be uploading pics either this week or next on how to patch it, or rather how my mates patching it and repairing it using formed steel angles and bulkhead tops for £20, total bulkhead repair costs = £27

Thats actually who I got my bulkhead tops off, then I went to the local metalworker and got some top plate made up that just slots on as well as a new back piece all for £6 including some other patches for the footwells
