Series 3 with 200 tdi ???

Hi all

I have a series 3 with a 2.5 N/A diesel in it using a series 3 box

I have been offered a 200 TDI engine and gearbox for a good price .

I know the 200 tdi will fit in ok, but the question is can i use the 5 Speed gearbox in the series will alxes etc be ok ???

Or do i need to keep the series 3 4 speed box ???

I think the series box has to be kept as the 200 tdi box is longer and the mounts will need moving and than i have the problem of the rear prop being to long !!!

Has anyone put a 200 tdi in to a series ??
Any points which box did you use ??

If it were me I might consider de-turbo-ing it to use with the Series box. That sounded like a good option with the right gearing (big wheels, RR diffs & an overdrive).

Sounds like a pretty indestructable way of doing it.

if yu really feel like going mad - fit a rover 220 turbo lump in it - parently makes a series go like stink
