Hi All, does anyone have an original series 3 steel wheels for sale? I have some nice alloys with perfect tyres but want it back to original. Cheers

I put some on ebay a while ago for 20 quid, 6 of them no takers so gave them away in the end to a guy that bought some early defender rostyles from me. People ask stupid money for them but in reality there's thousands out there and they're pretty worthless.
Also I wouldn't get series rims I'd go for 110 defender ones.

I would agree with this, the rime are worthless. I have a pair sat on my shelf I picked up for free to use when removing the rear axle form mine (Put just the rims on and could roll it out without jacking the back end too high). the only reason I still have them is I cannot get rid of them. They are only worth anything if they have good tyres on, and even then their worth is marginal.
I would also agree that you would be better off getting later defender rims. aesthetically they look the same but have the advantage of being able to fit tubless tyres.

I sold some SWB (5J) rims and tyres, got £5 each for them - they fit a lot of farm trailers. I'll have 4 LWB (5.5J) tubed wheels and tyres to shift soon and don't expect to get much as the tyres are old but I've no use for the wheels. I'm swapping up to 6.5J tubeless wheels to get a better tyre choice. I need 31" - 32" wheels to get the gearing right so that means a 235/85 profile of which there are many, or a 7.5R16 where there is a lot less choice.

Not wishing to hijack post but I'm desperate for a defender tubeless rim for my spare wheel (5.5Jx16) will gladly swap a series rim for one as part payment (Essex, Suffolk or Norfolk)

I'd have taken £5 for the lot......I have some lwb rims and tyres going spare as well, got some 265/75/16's on 7J rims on the 109 yesterday, they look the business and fill out the arches well.(a bit too well really but I'll keep my head down).

You're about a year too late, I'd have given you loads but given them away.
Having said that I saw a rim on the shed roof this morning I'll let you know what it is.

Radar Renegade, liked the look of the tread pattern they're not overtly offroad tyres which suits me but admittedly I haven't been on tarmac yet (cos still waiting for the Dvla........) so don't know how noisy they might be. Bear in mind its a 2.5n/a under the bonnet the road noise will be drowned out anyway!
