Hi guys,

I noticed I was getting leaks from the hoses and got them sorted with some new jubilee clips. I now have noticed am getting a leak from the middle of the engine.
If your stood on the passenger side looking in the bonnet from the side the leak is appearing out of the engine about 6-8inches down. As far as I can see there are no pipes / hoses there so I'm guessing its coming from the engine.

Anyone experienced this? (I'm guessing it's not good)

I've seen an old forklift with a perkins engine that had an oil leak (same may be possible with a waterway). It was coming from the headgasket, we thought. turned out that the head had somehow cracked.
That thing must have had a lot of abuse though.
Hopefully thats not the case with yours, and you should have a lot more room than their was on that forklift.
Any taps on the block? if you're refering to the front of the block it might be water pump housing.

Dont think there was. Another thing I've noticed is the core plug that goes into the inlet manifold isn't wired up. The cable is just bare inside the cab. However next to is a 12v feed off the battery. I'm guessing someone connected them together to get the plug warm before starting.

Does this sound right?

No, I think you're on about the heater plugs on the cylinder head. Core plugs, are literally just a plug thats tapped into the block so that if the water freezes it will push the plug out instead of damaging the engine. Either that or they just corrode and leak.
The plugs are highlighted in red to give an idea of what they look like. Its A 2 1/4 lump though.
