hi all I've just bought a series 3 LHD French ex Pompiers 88" which although is in brilliant nick, only done 70k km (40k miles) no rust at all, how-ever she sits down on one side, therefore I've bought new springs & shocks all round. In the parts books it states different codes for the drivers side/passenger sides, I can only assume this is because of the duffs/fuel tank etc & on a RHD the driver ie. Heavier offside! As I've taken my springs off the codes are reversed ie. The spring for the drivers side as actually been put on the drivers side LHD! Which I believe is wrong, hence the car sitting lower on the LHS looking at it from the front, could anyone please advise if I am correct by putting the drivers side springs on the left looking at it form the front, and not the LHD drivers side. Cheers all. Mac

The way it was fitted should be correct. The parts manual simply makes the distinction between "drivers" side and "passengers" side so the drivers side being on the LHD side is correct in this case. As suggested there could be other reasons (duff shock absorber or spring bushes gone and/ or badly torqued.
