This is probly the most simple as question ever asked on landy zone but just want to make sure as my haynes manual has currently been borrowed out:(

Im sure there correct but just so I can rule it out, I know the firing order on the series 2.25 petrol is 1342 but can some one confirm for me the order the plugs go on top of the distributor if you get what I mean,,,?

Yes, 1 3 4 2 it is.

The ONLY alternative would be 1243 (the same order backwards).

So which way round do they go to the distributor,, clock wise or anti clock wise? and wheres the starting point (think ive confused myself now:confused:)

Firing order is 1.3.4.2. Remove the dizzy cap when you have the crank set at TDC. Check and make sure No.1 cylinder is on compression. Where ever the rotar arm is pointing is No.1. Remember where the arm is pointing and refit the dizzy cap. The HT lead connection on top of the Dizzy below the arm is No.1 so connect the HT lead going to No.1 plug to it. In an ANTI-CLOCKWISE direction go to the next connection on the Dizzy cap, fit the Ht lead going to N0.3 cylinder here. Again in an ANTI-CLOCKWISE direction go to the next connection. Fit the HT lead going to number 4 plug here, finally fir the HT lead on the one remaining connection to No.2 cylinder.

Hopefully you will be able to follow these instruction.

If in doubt, remove the dizzy cap, get someone to spin the engine on the starter, and look what way it turns!
