Series 3 Handbrake

Hi everyone.

The handbrake is not working on my Land Rover and there is a lot of oil leaking around the back of the gearbox where the handbrake is, after reading another post i thought it may be the gearbox output seal? if it is is it an easy fix and if so what do i need to know and how to replace it? and where could i buy one? (note i live in Australia) Also is this a common problem and what is it caused by?

yep sounds like the oil seal. easy enuff job and plenty of places ship abroad...try douglas motors wimborne uk they dont sell cheap ****e seals

and by the way would u have any advice or instructions so to speak about how to go about replacing the seal as i am new to land rovers?

Don't forget a new set of handbrake shoes...

Worth picking up the genuine green workshop manual on Fleabay. The seal isn't difficult to do.
