Series 3 as a Daily?

looks a bit pricey for its condition, have you considered a diesel, I potter around in mine over the distances you are talking about and its fine, lacking in acceleration but for short distances and around town that's not a problem for me.

helps me keep my licence clean :D

I agree with others, it looks a bit pricey, although original and honest. Another £500 - £600 and you'd probably find one that's had a replacement chassis and good for another 20 years. Personally, I'd have a look at it for experience but probably keep looking.

My series 3 diesel is my daily driver. I do 36 miles a day for the work commute with no problems. I did 120 miles a day when my Mother was ill including motorway running, ear plugs are handy for that type of mileage !

Thats a lot of money for a motor in that condition...it may be solid and may be worth a look but take a screwdriver and be prepared to get under it and get dirty.

My old 81 SIII sits quite happily at 50 on motorways but make sure you get one with an overdrive, it makes a world of difference to fuel economy and noise levels!

Thanks again for the replies all, they're much appreciated.

I didn't get chance to go see it this weekend unfortunately - hopefully next weekend if it's still there.
