Hello again.

I have been replacing my old and not fit for MOT 2.25 engine for a slightly newer 2.25 engine (petrol to petrol). Now the problem starts as my starter motor does not fit any more. I have searched high and low to find a replacement but am pretty stuck.

I have been told that with the engine I put in now I need a pre-engaged starter motor. Is this true??? If not or if so, then where can I find one???, as now my project has come to a stand still and the old lady does not like to stand still.

Anyone that can help, I have a brand new, still in the oil paper back up from the old engine 'brittpart' that I am very willing to swap for the correct one that I need. Or just buy it outright :D

Engine:
2.25 P
Issue H
29 L2 D

No idea what these 3 number mean

Starter motor bolts are roughly at 5 inches

will upload some pics on my user page in a bit

See if someone can get the dimensions and spec off the 2.5 petrol but I've never seen any variants on the 2.25 starters

i think all the diesels are preengaged. got one here if you get desperate

edit:

ah forget that, i think you are after pre-engaged petrol starter from the first 90's? metric.

best check the engine number
