Hello all, am putting my series 3, petrol, 5 bearing crank back together & have found conflicting info re cap bolt torque, varies between 85 & 100 ftlbs. Anyone know what the correct torque is?

Is this main bearings or big ends?

In any case, I would go with what it says in the genuine manual.

This normally useful but confirms 85 for 3 bearing and 100 for diesel
Don’t think it would harm having 85 on the 5 bearing
