Hello, I have a query. I am looking to buy what is considered to be a 1962 Series 2a. There are a few later mods by the looks. The V5 states it's a historic vehicle and is MOT and Tax exempt. I would really appreciate some expert considerations if this is an original S2a. I cannot find a chassis number - it looks like that the front section has been replaced a long time ago. The plate serial number on the dash matches the V5. I have found an engine block number cast so expect that is the part number. The gear stick is cranked, windscreen hinges and the dash looks right. The door hinges and the lights in the wings do not look right. The foot wells and the rear chassis look remarkable good.
If the V5 says its an historic and therefore MOT & tax exempt does this adequate to claim?
I have added various photos but apologies for some of the angles.
Many thanks.

Probably a 2a with lots of Series 3 bits. It also says 2500cc engine on the V5, but in fact appears to have a 2286cc diesel.

I can't see anything that I think would be a problem for Historic Vehicle tax class.

I also observe it is absolutely hanging, so hope you aren't paying much,

If the price wasn't right, it is best to walk away ...
Price must have been the issue because it otherwise looked OK legit-wise, although it's possible the bulkhead is the only 2A part on it because as far as I can see, the only things which identify it as 2A are attached to it ;)

I was just waiting for one of the photos to show coil springs...
