Nice, many years ago me, my bro and my then teenage son totally restored a 1961 S2a swb in 6 weekend's inc rebuilding both axles, painting the old galv chassis, overhauling the gearbox, swapping the recon petrol engine out of my S3 swb and fitting it into the 2a chassis, replacing all springs, rebuilding the bulkhead, stripping another S2a swb for the bodywork as the original was ex army green under hand painted Bronze green and giving it a full respray once fitted to my 2a, so depending how far you are going and with plenty of help it can be done, enjoy ;):D

This one I'm doing now on my own has took me the best part of 18 months and probably another 6-12 months all being well

Hi Graham,
I had several series Landrovers 2A and 3’s about 25 years ago, they where all good and never needed work. Now I am retired I fancied a small project :) found this 1960 in Scotland. I thought I could just get away with outriggers,and a lot of small jobs and TLC, after scraping off some rust decided it had gone to bad, I am hoping to get a new chassis next week. And going to show on Saturday for new springs,shocks, and other bits. It won’t go in my garage so all work has to be done outside, let’s hope sun keeps smiling.

There’s nothing like a new chassis to be bolting stuff too!:)
It’s a lovely looking Landy. Are you going to keep it looking as is?

Hi Rich, yes the plan is to restore it to the best of my ability, new chassis, new suspension ( should arrive today), new brakes, new wiring harness, and respray.
Mechanicaly it was sweet as a nut. It was bought as a project to give me something to do,

I just saw you found the Landy in Scotland. That’s quite a trek from Nuneaton!
Bet it feels like Christmas with all the new things being delivered!

Update, new chassis, degrease , etch, using Morden solution, primed and painted, while waiting for new springs,
Rubbed down and painted wheels.
 
Hi Mike,
Mine is a 1960 series 2, it’s a RHD
So I have one pipe from rear left wheel to a T piece connection just above the diff
Another pipe from the right rear wheel to the same connection,
A small flexible pipe then from the T piece to a joint on the right hand side of the chassis, then a single long pipe to the front connection.
A single pipe from each of front wheels to that connection. Then one small pipe to the master cylinder. I down have a servo.
