Series 2 Radiator Panel

I have a series 2a (1970), and the front radiator panel is corroded along the bottom edge (as most are), and it's been fitted with a series 3 grill...

What I want to do is, fit a series 2 radiator panel / gill (with the headlights), and relocate my roof spot lights in to the panel as well as retain the in-wing headlights I have.

Has anyone here done this before, or got any pictures lying around of such a modification? Thanks.

Have you searched? Because there's a **** load of pics like that on google.....

And 1970 would have been a series 3 front end anyway iirc. Only the bulkhead denoted it then as they'd swapped to in wing and the **** slam panel by the

I know 1970 would have been a series 3 front panel, but trying to pick up a decent series 2A grill is proving a PITA, but there are loads of series 2 grills around... so if I convert to the series 2 panel I'll resolve this issue - and the other issue - I hate having spot lights 'out on show'.

Think there's a couple more. If you want to make it look like a 2 blank off the 3 lights and put the spotlights on a bar, bumper or recessed into bumper

No I don't want to look like a 2 or a 3, I was just struggling to get hold of a 2a wire grill - but I guess I'll just keep looking. Maybe I'll have a re-think on where to put the spot lights...

If only serious corrosion on lower edge then fix it,a piece of angle welded on makes good and doe's not even have to be ground clean as it's behind front valance. Late 2a not like series 3 still has wire mesh grill not plastic. Agree with Dr evil 4 headlamp setup looks SH1T.

The corrosion is more than just the lower edge, it's crept up the sides and middle... so I was looking to replace. Is there a repair panel available?

The series 3 plastic grill I have looks sh1t - I'll be looking out for a 2A wire one... or maybe I'll make one.

The one that went for £40 came with the grille though!

The 2A had wire grills up to the series 3 in 1972/1973. Plastic only comes in after '72

Yep, and that's why I want to convert my 1970 back to a 2a after the previous owner part-converted it to a 3.

I am a bit late into this thread, have you looked at the "Rocky Mountain" wire mesh grill ? Last time I looked £40ish.
