The ABS/Hill Descent/Traction control warning lights have recently come on and have stayed illuminated on my discovery seies 2 (2000). Is this likely to be due to a faulty ABS modulator? If it is and I replace it, does the control unit need to be reset to clear the error codes so the lights go out. If it does, how do you reset it?

A friend of mine has a freelander which has the same problem except his lights come and go. He has not yet bothered too look into it properly as it does not have any effect on the driveability.

best thing to do go to your dealership, certin vin ranges have a technial test that has to be carried out to verify if it is your abs modulator, and yes if u fit a new modulator the ecu has to be cleared of fault codes hope this helps

The fault code has to be reset using test book (or something similar). Old faults are stored and can cause the lights to stay illuminated even though the fault itself maybe cleared. You haven't necessarily got a modulator fault. Best thing to do is get it tested/cleared and take it from there.
