Chi chaps. Long story short.
My docs couldn't do anymore for me, so simply I'm dying from leukemia.
Pulled a bit longer than they expected though, and wanna do something before I pass away. Had to sell my last landy when disease started, as by loosing job we've had plenty of financial problems. (I've had two LR90, Disco300 and DEF110 before in my life)
Now before I go, I decided to get my own Series, and drive it a bit at least. After this, it's gonna go to my wife, which is very rare example of landy-loving wife.
Only problem, the series must be very clean. Maybe reconditioned, or well taken care of body. Car will need to be sterilized with antibacterial stuff, as my immunity sucks bad. Been looking recenlty on ebay, gumtree, autotrader, and there aren't many of cleans tucks available. If one shows up, usually price is is very high. To high for my reach. I'd just like it to be very clean, not rusty inside and DIESEL motor. All running good and with MOT. Age under 72' for cheap insurance. I'm not a rich person, but we've managed to put couple grand aside for this purpose. My hope is, that maybe within forums it may be easier to find it.
If someone is up for part exchange? I've got good, clean all running, astra estate 1.7Dti 2004', which I want to get rid of anyway.
Sorry for posting in this part of the forum, just was hoping to reach to more people, as time is kind of important to me.
And please, if you don't like the idea, try to refrain from unpleasant comments, I've had about enough of that from people while going through all this for a last couple of years.
So guys, if anyone has a series like I described above for sale, send me a PM, and we'll talk.
Take care.

Rather than buy yourself a situation, wouldn't enjoying the cash your drop on a series with the wife be better. I think your looking for the holy grail of land rover for not much money

I wouldn't normally post in a topic like this, because there's nothing I can really contribute.

However, I feel compelled after reading just to say good luck, and that I wish that whatever time you do have left is as enjoyable and painless as possible.

If in the rare occasion I do spot something that fits your bill, I'll keep you in mind. :)

You know how it works, If you don't need them, there is plenty advertised around. When you wanna buy it - instantly all gone.
They are not that rare, prices between 2 and 4 grand, and I'm prepared to pay somewhat around the middle, but when you're tight on time, instantly there is non around.

I don't have high demands. Late 2 or early 3, very clean inside, diesel, not modified too harshly.

Your budget should get you a reasonable series with a 12 month ticket. You will get a bit more for your money if you go for a series 3. The prices usually jump up quite a bit when you venture in tax exempt money.

I would advise going for the petrol. Much nicer to drive than the disel.

I wish you the best of luck with your search :)

Cheers. I just lost one on ebay bidding by 50 quid :)
What age does the vehicle must be, so it can be insured as classic?
I always thought, same as for tax exemption - means 72 or older.
My neighbor pays ~150 quid for two landys SI and SIII...
