Series 1 front panel on series 2

I have recently picked up a series 1 front panel (thanks to LZ members that helped) for another project I am helping with. When I had a closer look its made of alloy so mi thinking automatically strayed onto replacing my series 2 panel with this one and using that one for the other job.
Anyone tried this and will it fit?

It seems to be the right width ect.

iirc the insides of the chassis rails are the same distance apart, no idea if the holes for the bolts into the wings will line up though

I can easily fashion a bonnet catch and make the radiator fit with a bit of bodging but not sure of the height or those cut outs in the bottom corners. Might look a bit daft.
